  • One swing every 0.7 seconds, with a short reach.
  • Each armour piece cuts damage taken by 15%, and pieces add up. Wear all three for a 15% set bonus: 60% less damage in all. Against slaves' punches armour works half as well (30% for a full set).
  • Rage: you build 1 rage every 4 seconds in the deadzone (it doesn't drain there), and striking your own slaves adds more. Outside the deadzone it drains 2 a second. Every point adds 9% to your damage. Rage over 50 shows as a red outline.
  • You heal 0.4 HP a second in the deadzone and 30% faster (0.52) outside it; a bandaid heals 20 HP instantly, up to 3 bandaids in any 7 seconds (each use recharges 7 seconds after it). Every swing in the deadzone costs 1% stamina.

Slaves

Slaves fight with their fists. Every punch rolls from 1 up to the slave's Combat stat. A Combat-5 slave hits for 1-5, a Combat-10 slave for 1-10. Toughness comes from Heavy:

So a Combat-5 slave averages 3 damage a punch and needs around 27 punches to drop an average (Heavy-5) slave. Combat rises by surviving the Pit and through breeding.

Fights are messy. A fighting slave picks a random enemy near it and switches to another every few seconds, so a 10 v 10 brawl swirls instead of pairing off. At 10% HP a slave may break and run for a few seconds before it turns and fights again.

When a master is hit, their loose followers rush in to defend them for 8 seconds. That's a brawl.

Rewards

  • Killing a master: +5 cruelty and a Kill on the leaderboard (no credit for the same master again within an hour). Dying in the deadzone costs 20 cruelty, whatever killed you.
  • Killing someone else's slave: +2 cruelty and a Slave kill, plus a chance it drops a bandaid. Your own slave: +1.
  • Kills your slaves make count too, at half the cruelty (rounded up).
  • Cruelty has 10 tiers, each with a title you can pick in your Profile, and a star over your name for every two tiers (up to 5). Press L for the leaderboard.
