Stamping the dirt
Buildings
Press B to open the build menu. Each building serves a different loop, and slaves you assign run that loop automatically.
The roster
| Building | Job |
|---|---|
| Crop Patch | Plantable dirt. Costs 5 wood per tile. |
| Silo | Stores grain + boosts crop growth nearby. Assigned slaves auto-plant, water, harvest, deposit. |
| Woodcutter Hut | Assigned slaves chop the nearest trees and stockpile the wood. |
| Quarry | Assigned slaves mine rocks for stone. |
| Blacksmith | You craft armor here. Assigned slaves slow-mine iron from nearby nodes. |
| Shed | Aggregates stored resources. Assigned slaves shuttle goods from other buildings. |
| House | Living quarters. Assign 1 male + 1 female adult for the breeding loop. Wandering, not working. |
| Church | Clan hub. Found a clan, recruit, declare war, call truces. |
Placement rules
- Costs wood, stone, sometimes iron. Costs show on each card in the build menu.
- Can't place inside the marketplace zone.
- Can't place on top of a tree (chopped or alive) — clear it first.
- Buildings have a minimum spacing between them, but Crop Patches can sit right up against a Silo so the boost ring works.
Assigning slaves
Click a slave you own → the inspector opens → pick a building from the list. They'll path over and start working. Click "release from work" to free them. A slave can only be assigned to one building at a time. Babies can't be assigned at all.
Shared with clan
A toggle in each storage building's header marks it shared with your clan. Once on, every clanmate can deposit, withdraw, and assign slaves to it as if they owned it. Churches never share this way.
