The red ground
Deadzone & Runaways
The deadzone is the painted red area on the map. Step inside and you can hit anyone. Step inside hungry and you'll feed someone else's win condition.
What changes when you cross the line
- PvP is on. You can attack any player and they can attack you.
- Your unassigned slaves jump in and defend you.
- Wild slaves spawn here. You can catch them.
- Step back out — for both fighters — and the brawl ends.
Runaways
Every 30 minutes a wave of wild slaves washes up on the beach next to Crack Legs Jimmy (the fisherman). They walk into the deadzone and wander around with a red CATCH ME label above their head.
How many spawn depends on how many players are online:
| Players | Runaways |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0 |
| 1 – 9 | 1 |
| 10 – 49 | 5 |
| 50 – 99 | 10 |
| 100 – 299 | 15 |
| 300 – 999 | 20 |
| 1000+ | 30 |
Crack Legs Jimmy reminds the chat how long until the next wave every ten minutes. Sharpen your axes.
Capturing a runaway
Beat one to 0 HP. That's it. Instead of dying, the slave becomes yours: they revive at 10 HP, the CATCH ME label drops, and they're listed in your inventory like any slave you bought from the auction house. Feed them up and they're yours.
A captured slave is one of the highest-value items in the game. That's the reward — no separate bounty, just the slave.
Uncaught runaways
If nobody catches a wild slave within 60 minutes, they despawn. So a quiet server still rotates fresh ones in.
